About us
After many years of racing and after working within the trackday industry as a race school instructor/trackday instructor, and off track providing tyre services & mechanical support in the UK, France, Portugal and Spain it became very apparent to me that a major issue for a lot riders of our sport was the task of refitting of wheels after tyres changes. The charges levied by some Trackday organisors/service providers for the service of removal & refitting wheels to the bikes after tyre changes can be pretty heavy. Sometimes £20 to £25 for something that can be done in seconds with the right kit.
I have seen grown men almost in tears as they were about to miss their track sessions due to not being able to refit the wheels after tyre changes etc. And not really wanting to pay the charges for the service offered by the trackday organisers, and guys that have lost wheel spacers, whilst in the process of wheel changes or tyre fitting, to lose the rest of the day or miss races as no replacements were available.
Then the changing from dries to wets, continually swapping wheels over can be time consuming and frustrating and very risky if using the OE spacers with getting them mixed up, lost etc.
From my racing days having captive wheel spacers definitely helped me in my success, never missing races or tracktime as wheels were often removed and refitted in minutes with no issues.
Initially we produced our captive wheel spacer sets for the latest models on track at that time, but soon we were getting asked to provide for many many different makes and models, not just for track but for road users as well. Riders who wanted to work on there own machines without the struggle, and that’s where this has come from.
We are now providing these kits for motorcycles where back in their day of production these kits simply were not available, and also for many road based machines that the owners simply want to work on their own machines and not struggle to refit wheels after basic servicing/cleaning of there bikes.
We are continually striving to produce a very high quality component at a very affordable price.
